Open Days

 There are a number of Open and Taster events during the year which provide opportunities for prospective pupils and parents to experience the school in action and also to meet staff and current pupils.

Nursery (ages 2-4)

Nursery (ages 2-4) The Nursery is currently transitioning to be for 3+ only. We currently accept children from the age of 2 provided they will be 3 by January 2019. From January 2019, children will be able to join on the day following their third birthday.

Prep School (ages 4-11)

Prep School (ages 4-11) Children join Reception class in the September after their 4th birthday. When the time comes to move up to Senior School, whether this is to Stonar or another school, everyone is prepared for the appropriate entrance examinations.

Senior School (ages 11-18)

Senior School (ages 11-18) Boys and girls wishing to join the Senior School are required to sit an entrance exam in the January prior to September entry. A report from the pupil's current school is also requested. As a non-academically selective school, the entrance examination provides an indication of a pupil's strengths and weaknesses.

Sixth Form (ages 16-18)

Sixth Form (ages 16-18) Pupils entering the school at Sixth Form will have an interview with the Head and a report from their current school will be required.

International Pupils (ages 8-18)

Pupils for whom English is a second language and who wish to join Stonar for one year or longer, will be required to take an EAL examination plus an appropriate Maths paper. They will also need to provide a current school report. All pupils will have an interview with our Head of EAL by Skype to assess their level of spoken English.
